Genealogy
William Shackell is my 7 times Great Grandfather, born circa 1700 at a place yet to be discovered. I suspect he may be from Hertfordshire or Buckinghamshire as families are known to exist in those areas.
Records first reference him in Pinner, Middlesex when the birth of John is recorded in 1724 with his wife Elizabeth. They have five children in total until 1736, all in Pinner. The next record is that of the birth of another son William Shakell in 1738 in Ruislip a parish adjacent to Pinner.
William appears to be the only male child of the first William to survive to adulthood but he sets the foundations of quite a successful dynasty. My line and a number of others are included on the tree.
In 1761 William marries Mary Douglas or Duglass in Ruislip. They have a total of 9 children recorded, 4 male who continue the Shackell name and 5 females. Elizabeth Shackell my 5 times Great Grandmother married Thomas Vincent. They had two daughters before she died in 1802. Both daughters lived to marry and have children. Mary my 4 times great grandmother marrying William Crow, having 8 children before passing away aged 74 after a long, hard and impoverished life
